PROFINET is a data communication protocol designed specifically for real-time data communication in automation and manufacturing environments.
We offer a comprehensive portfolio of host, switching and endpoint solutions to help you implement PROFINET quickly and confidently. Whether you're building infrastructure switches, edge controllers or I/O devices, our hardware and software solutions enable robust performance and accelerate time to market. We also offer our MicroCHECK design review service, which provides individualized feedback from our engineering team to support your development.
The LAN9662 is a compact, cost-effective, multi-port Gigabit AVB/TSN Ethernet switch with two integrated 10/100/1000BASE-T PHYs and a 600 MHz Arm® Cortex®-A7 CPU subsystem.
Designed for PROFINET RT, PROFINET TSN v2.4 and OPC UA Publish Subscribe (PubSub) automation networks at the field level, the LAN9662 facilitates asynchronous and low-cycle-time synchronous operation. With four Gigabit Ethernet ports, an Industrial Ethernet real-time engine and low-latency chain, this device supports tree and meshed topologies for PROFINET and OPC UA PubSub automation networks and low-latency, cut-through daisy chains for OPC UA PubSub summation frames (also known as aggregation frames and modify on-the-fly).
To address the need for enhanced redundancy and reporting, switching solutions now offload the required redundancy protocols directly onto the hardware, making your designs more reliable and resilient. We offer switching solutions that partition Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) and coherent routing situations that are time aware with multiple domains for factory, process, network and more. Our real-time engine offloads PROFINET Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), accommodating the increased demands placed on endpoints. Visit our GitHub to access a PROFINET sample application, which includes documentation and software.
For endpoint and edge applications, our microprocessors (MPUs) support certified PROFINET stacks. Our MPUs can be paired with standard Ethernet PHYs to deliver real-time performance in compact, cost-effective designs. This software-based approach is great for I/O devices, gateways and controllers that require flexibility, integration with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) or control logic, and deterministic communication.
